Does anybody own an Olympus mju 7090 SW or is in a line of work which involves them knowing alot about them?

Basically I've just bought one and looking at the light next to the flash, it's pointing towards the lens, but its also not flush with the front of the camera, theres a small gap which would allow water and dirt to enter a camera which is supposed to be water proof.

Is this normal? The gap is only along the bottom of the light and is just wide enough for a sheet of paper to fit through

It is supposed to be that way. You'll notice there are lots of 'holes' in your camera where water could enter, but these are all outside the waterproof membrane. I had problems finding out how to switch on this light, until I realized that I had to enable this function in the setup menu.

mward4000, you mean Olympus mju 790 SW?
If so - I have this camera and have the same problem that you talk about.
nice to hear that this is the normal thing for this model, because before I though that it's something with my digicam
